Fourth Annual Surfside Food Drive
9/1/2012
Location: 4th Avenue Boardwalk
Description: Move For Hunger presents the Fourth Annual Surfside Food Drive and Concert Series to benefit the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. While hunger may not be on people’s minds during the summer holidays, hunger takes no vacations. The summer months can be some of the most difficult for food banks and struggling families as children who receive subsidized lunches are home from school.
Area residents and beachgoers are urged to bring down non-perishable food items from September 1st to 3rd at the Move For Hunger tent on the 4th Ave boardwalk in Asbury Park. The three-day event features a movie night, the 2nd Annual Surfside Cornhole Tournament at Porta National Park and daily performances by local artists right on the boardwalk including E Street Shuffle, Quincy Mumford & the Reason Why, Matt Wade, The Amboys and many more.
Anyone who donates non-perishable food items will receive a free Surfside 2012 T-shirt and will be entered into a raffle to win one of the many prizes from event sponsors. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to come down and enjoy the free music.

Screening of "Celeste and Jesse Forever"
9/1/2012
Location: The ShowRoom
Description: “Celeste and Jesse Forever”
Rated (R), 91 minutes
Saturday, September 1 at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
In short: Celeste is convinced that divorcing Jesse is the right thing to do — she is on her way up, he is on his way nowhere. Jesse passively accepts this transition into friendship, even though he is still in love with her. As the reality of their separation sets in, Celeste painfully realizes she has been cavalier about their relationship, and her decision, which once seemed progressive, now seems selfish. While navigating the turbulent changes in their lives and hearts, these two learn that in order to truly love someone, you may have to let them go.
