American Stare

Description: American Stare is the newest play from award-winning playwright Tony Glazer & directed by Evan Bergman (Jericho, Poetic License). Set in a trailer park in South Florida, this world premiere dark comedy, mines the visceral anger of the disenfranchised lower class. Following the spiraling lives of a widowed woman and her pit-bull, a disabled child-predator, and a couple with their teenage daughter, we are challenged to see the world through their eyes -- a world led by a broken moral compass and tainted with the pervasiveness of special interests. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays @ 8PM; Saturdays @ 3PM; Sundays @ 2PM thru 7/22/12; Preview performances 6/14 & 6/15/12 @ 2PM & 8PM & 6/16/12@ 3PM; Opening Night w reception 6/16/12. Bijing and a Sunset Picnic

Location: Sandy Hook Beach

Description: Who's up for a lovely summer's eve bike ride and then staying to watch the sunset while we enjoy a leisurely picnic? I know a great spot........ Here's the plan: After 5pm it's free to get into Sandy Hook so let's meet at the Picnic area located at the corner of Harthshorne Drive and Atlantic Drive just after 5, we can claim a picnic area if we are lucky, they have tables and also grills there if anyone wants to bring charcoal and do some cooking. There is also a building with restrooms there. Once we get settled in we can get on our bikes and ride wherever we want to from 6pm till 7ish or later. They have an amazing bike path there and this is also near the fort and the lighthouse and other such places to explore. No matter what bike level you are at you can ride as much as you want and then meet us back there! If you do not have a bike Rays is open till 5:30 and they told me that you can arrange to drop it back off after hours. Well behaved kids and pets are welcome. Please bring your own plates/cups/beverages and something to share to eat, post what you are bringing once you decide to avoid duplication.Also feel free to bring frisbees or balls or any other outdoor play equipment as they have plenty of wide open lawn space here.
